Lecab truncate impulses and sounds not fine.
Kefir have much distortion freq-s on high.
Voxengo Boogex - payment and distort original sound of impulse.
I recommend try Perfect Space from Cakewalk bundle. You can download it from * DELETED *

SIR2- is it worth 200$?

SIR1 was buggy, tended to crash, so I deleted it.

LeCab 2 is great, but it crashes Reaper often. It has something to do with certain impulses (rate, bit depth, not sure) & switching between them. Suddenly it will crash, & you'll lose all your work. Somehow we have to convince Lepou to fix it!

IFace is awesome as well! While geared for Redwirez, it loads external impulses, & has dozens of controls, including generating new impulses.

Boogex is still useful, not as useful as it is mono. It uses low cpu, you can load several on a track & get a series eq effect. (Lecab & Iface are parallel)

thats a shame about LeCab 2 crashing reaper, i use ableton and have never had a problem with it crashing..

I honestly like LeCab 1. I used it with recabinet complete 2.0 for years. LeCab 2 is nice but I Needed more than HP, and LP per IR. Now I'm using Cabinet3 while a little OT, I quite like it.

Lecab2 flexible in options and allows you to upload a few impulses, but does not support stereo IR's (but also supports stereo processing mode). Truncate impulses. I think trim function should be remove.

I do not know about the SIR.

kefir their work is done excellently, but the quality is bad.

try Perfect Space (Pure Space in the past) - set latency to 64 samples

As you mention it's probably realted to the structure of the IR file. There is two conventions, little and big endian, and it's most likely the reason of the crashes. If you know which IR file leads to crash send me a PM please. One thing you can try too is to re-encode the IR file.

I could remove the trim function but at the same time I'll have to increase the FFT length used in the calculation and this will obviously increase the CPU consumption.

LePou, I think you know how you can reduce the load on the CPU.
For example, downloaded a few impulses in the emulator, and then when all options are configured to press the button, for example "mixdown IR's to new. " After that load only new impulse.

Hey, I think it's a pretty good idea for a plugin. Some sort of IR maker based on a blend of severeal IRs.

@PVDHP : you can already do that using LeCab2 + Voxengo Deconvolver that's what I do and it works fine.

Why are you guys saying that keFir reduces the quality of the sound? Examples?

I personally like ReverberateLE the most.
Zero latency and minimal strain on the CPU.

A good one is the MixIR2 from redwirez ... It provides a ways to use IR in parallel (CAB) and/or serial (EQ, rev and/or Impedance curves). It mixes down all IRs to get the minimal CPU usage.

The only think missing is a delay per IR

I used to use LeCab, but have since gone over to Kefir, as it just sounds better to me.

Technically, the best IR loader is SIR2.
However, i hate to open several instances of it when i want to use a combination of several IRs. This is why i used LeCab for a very long time. Recently i played a bit with mixIR2 and have to say, i really liked it too.

So whenever you are working with a single IR2, go for SIR2. If you want to mix several, use LeCab or mixIR2!

Cheers!

Another great one might be Reverberate/Reverberate LE. LE Version is free but limited to one IR, has some tweaking possibilities such as EQ. There is also a CUDA Version which can process on your GPU if you have a NVIDIA Card Series 8 and above. I like it so far.

I'm using LeCab and keFIR. I tried a few other ones too, but for me those two are perfekt.
It's probably just a matter of opinion. ;)
