AFAIK, He used an XP100 head for the cleans only, I had one of those heads myself. I could be wrong though?

The rockman is a very hard nut to crack. It will all depend on your dynamic curve enhancement setting..

Jac, bro, I badly need a two-channel amp where the 1st channel is Rockerverb dirty and the 2nd is Jube metal mod high input (all those made by you) but both of them with a bit more gain/overdrive (about 10% to be figurable :D ). You can apply any skin/knobs/switches you want bro. Wish you luck and THANX in advance! :D

P.S.: Rocker dirty ch. better be in the boost (upper) position of a channel switch as it seems heavier to me haha :D

I've been trying to pull a short list together of amp heads and noticed that Glenn Tipton from JP uses a Rocktron Pre-amp with a JCM 800 in one of his setups for touring.

The rocktron rears its' challenging head again [ha ha]

ok mastermindjacquard -

here's my first suggestion [when you get time - I know you're super busy]:

Artist - Peter Frampton
Album - Fingerprints
Song(s) - My Cup of Tea / Smokey

Here's what I know about the gear that was used for "Fingerprints"

Fender Tweed Twin '59
Fender - '62 Vibrolux
Shure SM57 up close, possibly with an AKG dynamic mic
Roomy mic - Neumann U 67

thanks again for all your awesome creations!

Here's a tip that might help you all on your rockman quest.
You can come close to the rockman compression by using the curve dynamics knob on the gain stage. The curve compression takes a read from the level of the last used curve. It then applies a saturation type algo based on those values... So what that means is, you can clip the curve dynamics easily if your C-GAIN on the last curve is too high. Sometimes you want to do this because it gives a completely different sound. If I'm making a High Gain head then I usually cut the signal down to about 10% going into the last curve. IOW use all the curves before the last curve to generate the distortion, and use the last curve to bring the signal level back down so that you don't set the curve dynamics into clip. Instead they just add a compression to the signal..
