There is a lot of things. One is the type of distortion. Response is also different. Old School refers to amps made back in the late 50's, 60's and early 70's. Modern refers to after the Boogie MkII c came along with the High Gain tone and response.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to give you all a heads up. iFace 1.05 will be released today, and to add to the good news, as a test, we decided to release it with a reaper style nag screen. So, iFace 1.05 release will support the entire Redwirez Library, with the exception of the impedance curves.

Its going to be up to you guys whether its useful or not. All future updates to iFace will be based on sales, if there is support for it, then we add your requests and update it, if there is little support then we don't and we move all our software to a more retail oriented release scheme. The cost for iFace has not changed either, its still 20 dollars...

So, to recap, the only thing you have to put with from iFace 1.05 is the 15 second nag screen...

Watch for it later today

very cool, downloading right now. I'm even going to try and get a post up about it on my blog. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with it a little tonight. I'm leaving town for xMas vacation in a day or two for the next week, my wife's birthday is tomorrow night and I had a run in with a suicidal deer on the highway this weekend....so hopefully i can find time before leaving to get a good play with it amongst all the stuff going on in my life at the moment.

Great formSRAudio.

I had a run in with a deer in our transport truck before we got our dog Tex. Damn Deer caused $4,200.00 in repairs. Just ran out of nowhere at like 3:00am in Wisconsin. As soon as I hit it, it was like, oh man, poor deer, then looking at the truck its like, WHAT! I know thats gonna hurt...So, when we got Tex we trained him to spot the road ahead looking for animals. He saved me from animal/truck collision at least 5 more times in 2 years. Driving through the mountains at night he was especially helpful because he would spot stuff way before me. He would start barking, growling and with that I knew there was something coming up so I would slow down.

This as Tex as a pup learning to spot, I think he may have been watching someone near the truck there. Either way thats how he learned.

Wow, that actually works?...smart dog :D I've got to go this afternoon and get the estimate done on my car, it's probably totaled.

Anyway, back on topic....

Ferkin A man! iFace is now my new IR loader. I had to spend some time last night getting my Redwirez folders in the correct order. But once I did it worked perfectly. I loaded up my IR's that I've been using in LeCab and right off the bat it worked and sounded great. It's SO much easier to audition IR's and it's got some real nice features. I'll get around to paying you for it when we get back from xmas vacation. I don't know if i'll be doing anything in the studio til at least that time.

The only downside is that it uses a little more CPU than my other loaders. But I'm starting to layer so much these days, I'm going to have to start bouncing tracks anyway. My current project has 12 vst amps running on it between 4 guitars and bass. My machine handles it, but i'm starting to hit upwards of 60+ percent CPU. In the end, 1% extra in each of those 12 amps...well you understand.

Awsome work though.

Forms..
Are you using iFace on each track? It has dual tracking capabilities...
So you can send 2 separate guitar tracks to it, and it will deal with each one independently. What it does not do in that mode however, is have 2 separate eq's one for each track. The TC Eq gets applied to both tracks equally(for now) thats something I want to add to it later if we sell enough copies and further development can be done. I would also like to add these capabilities as well. Apply the EQ to the incoming signal before the convolver, apply the eq to the IR before the convolver, or apply it after the convolver(like it is now). I think that will give us the opportunity for some pretty interesting tone shaping..

12 guitar tracks! Your CPU hates you...:)

About your purchase, I done't like having to sell this stuff, but the plus side is, it will fund the next round of freeware, and your support is really appreciated...So thanks man..

I'll have to read the manual on that dual tracking thing later. It might be something to think about. I use 3 separate IR's on 2 different tracks. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3406793/Alu%27s%20new%20amp2-3.mp3This rhythm guitar was done using Lecab, but it's a redwirez marshall on one side and uberkab on the other. The third IR is a farfield Soldano cab that's brought up to volume in the mix (mixed with the other cab) on each side. The mids are all the Soldano, and it kinda adds some depth at the same time. I think I would need 2 more IR slots on the one instance of iFace to do that right?

I'm of the opinion that mixing Ir's leads to a much bigger sound with the added frequecies and even makes those static IR's sound a bit more realistic if you take the time to pick the right ones that mix together well.
