Thanks! Actually, I had the resonance set to 0 on my 6505+ power section when I took all those impulses. I believe that's a mistake?

Hey, try these out! I made this with pink noise instead of a sine sweep, they're way better sounding! Let me know if you like them and I'll record impulses for 1 inch and 2 inch away and all that.

Hey thanks for the cabs. WIll try them soon.

So I'm looking at your PDF manual, and thinking to myself, these chaps look like someone I'd hang with, almost familiar, and then notice you live in my old stompin grounds. I moved away from Calgary about 5 years ago, I'm such an idiot! haha. I love Calgary. I lived in Somerset and Canyon meadows. I'm up in Grande prairie now, and I often wonder why? My buddy Rob is a guitar teacher in okotoks, so I do return now and then.

Thanks again for the impulses, Vaughn

Thanks guys! Check back in a couple days, I'll have the final version of God's cab up! I've been learning a lot and have re-done all the impulses with pink noise rather than a sine sweep! Really takes the harshness out.

Also I'm creating an additional set of the same impulses run through a Tube Screamer pedal before the power amp. My friend and I really found it really enhances the mid range, which we dig for our metal stuff.

Glad to hear these are being so well received!

The "Final" God's Cab IR's will be out soon, and will weigh in at approx 140+ IR files.

My friend and I noticed when we were using the IR's that the mid range was a bit scooped for our tastes (we love lots of mids for our low-tuned metal stuff), so we have included a version of all of the IR's with a Tube Screamer before the power amp.

As you can see, it really helped fill out the mids! I included a screenshot from the updated manual:

As I said, these will be released within the next couple days. I'm just grabbing some "back of cab" IR's (to add thump) and some room mic IR's... even a stereo one! All with and without the Tube Screamer.

Cheers,

Alex

Here's a little thingy I made with the IR's for a test. I really like poly-rhythms... :D

Guitars are Guitar Rig 4 using God's Cab IRs for cabinets. The high clean one was some fender preset, the low crunchy one was a "Rammfire" preset. The single low guitar is a combination of the 57 IR's, a room IR, and the stereo C02 IR's. C02 IR was a TS one. Both guitars are single tracked.

Edit: Here's another example

Taken into account in which way? The 6505+ was set to output 8 ohms and plugged into the Mesa OS 8 ohms jack if that helps, haha.

Sorry man I'm not an electronic pro. I just want to know because Redwirez released some impedance impulses to use in serial with they own IRs and the make the sound even more real and improve it a lot. That is why I'm asking you.

Thank you !

Yes these are done the same way, with a tube power section. I believe RedWirez said there is a pleasing interaction that occurs with speakers when you use a tube power amp, it enhances certain frequencies and gives a result more along the lines of what people "expect" the cab to sound like. I'm not sure that's 100% correct... I'm not an electronics expert either. :)

You could probably blend these and the RedWirez IRs without any phase issues as well, but that's speculation.
